Guiding Principles
“Firgun” (no english translation) (פִרְגוּן): We come together with a generous, unselfish spirit and a joy in the accomplishment of others.
Advance (לְקַדֵם): We will advance each organization’s mission with the Jewish people and Israel in mind.
Congregation (קְהִלָה): We build through teamwork (עֲבוׄדַת צֶוֶת). We may follow different paths, but we can help each other accomplish our goals, many of which we will have in common.
Intention (כַּוָּנָה): The word “Kavvanah” comes from an ancient root that connotes "heart." It suggests an orientation of mind, heart, and intention. Kavvanah is both emotional and intellectual devotion, since both action and proper intention are important when studying with peers.
