Brian Friedman is an accomplished economist and portfolio manager focused on global financial markets. As Portfolio Manager of the Israel Investment Fund, L.P., Brian is one of a very small group of American professional investors that actively analyzes opportunities in the Israeli stock market.
Brian's experience with the Israeli economy stretches back to the era of hyperinflation in the 1980s. During his junior year at the University of Tel-Aviv in the late 1980s, he intensively studied Israel's Economic Stabilization Plan and its initial economic reform efforts. Since that time - in his roles as an International Equity Analyst, Portfolio Manager and Economist - Brian actively invested in Israeli securities and closely monitored economic and financial developments in Israel.
Brian is the Co-Founder, President, and Chief Investment Officer of GHP Investment Advisors, Inc. (GHPIA), the parent company of Israel Investment Advisors, LLC. (IIA), an SEC registered investment advisor with assets under management exceeding $1.5 billion. Brian earned a B.A. in Economics from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and an M.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from the University of Chicago. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Business Economist (CBE) designations.
A native of Denver, Brian enjoys spending time with his wife and their three children.
